Sensex opened in a very aggressive note and quickly touched 11,710 but could not hold there for long and then came down to 11,570 and ended the day up 0.6% at 11,638.

Nifty also opened aggressively and touched a new high of 3,508 but could not hold there for long and came down to 3,463 and finally closed at 3,483 up 9.8 points.
