Global Markets:
Most of the Asian and European markets were down today and down at historical levels. FTSE 100 closed down -81 points or -1.4% at 5,624, Nikkei had the worst single day fall ever, It closed down -462 points or -3% at 14,633. Taiwan Index also shed -4% down -280 and closed at 6,331.
Indian Market:
Sensex opened with weak global ques and the fear of inflation in US and Oil crises. Initially Sensex opened in a negative note of about -90 points , but due to continued selling Index tumbled to the days low of 9201 - down 556 points and finally recovered a bit and closed the day at 9296 down -461 points or -4.7%.
All most all Blue chip stock took heavy beatings, Bharthi-AiTel,Bajaj Auto,Dr.Reddys,HLL,Reliance Industries,TATA Steel, and TATA Power all shed -7%.
Reliance Energy,Ranbaxy and Wipro lost -6% and more.
The biggest loser was HPCL which lost -12% to close at 232, ICIC Bank lost about -8%.
Among the BSE Indices BSE Mid and SmallCap fell by -8% and BSE Oil&Gas lost about -6%.
